Tottenham Vs Eintracht Frankfurt Match Preview and Prediction
Despite the emotional and psychological difficulties of their beloved fitness coach Gian Piero Ventrone passing away last week, Tottenham found the spirit and the focus to bounce back from last week's surprise 0-0 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt by winning away to in-form Brighton. A visibly emotional Spurs manager Antonio Conte dedicated the result to Ventrone, a man who Conte said "was in the heart of every single Tottenham person".
Courtesy of their 1-0 win at Marseille a month ago, Frankfurt remain unbeaten in seven UEFA away fixtures (W6, D1) after last season becoming just the third team in history to complete a UEFA Europa League campaign without a loss. Perhaps most alarmingly for Tottenham, that includes five wins from five starts as travelling outsiders - including a 3-2 triumph at Camp Nou - which serves as another reminder that they cannot be taken lightly.
Players to watch: Tottenham midfielder Ivan Perišić has scored in two separate victories against Frankfurt for two clubs, and would be delighted to return to the scoresheet after three assists in all competitions during September. His Croatian compatriot, Frankfurt's Kristijan Jakić, scored a goal the last time he played a full 90 minutes away from home (at Stuttgart).
Hot stat: Only one of the six Group D games in the 2022/23 UCL have seen both teams score.
Fottennis Prediction: Tottenham 2 Frankfurt 1
