Tottenham vs Liverpool Match Preview and Prediction

Having kept up the pace with the Premier League's (PL) frontrunners thus far before consecutive league losses set them back, Tottenham Hotspur steadied the ship when coming back from 2-0 down to beat Bournemouth 3-2 courtesy of a dramatic 92nd minute winner. That was Tottenham's tenth point won from trailing positions this PL season, the most in the league, while they left it even later when scoring in the 95th minute against Marseille in midweek to complete another come-from-behind win.

Spurs couldn't work their magic in their last two home matches though, conceding first when losing and drawing to Newcastle and Sporting respectively. They now host Liverpool just a few days after manager Antonio Conte's anniversary at the club, and despite his side having won just one of the last 21 H2Hs (D6, L14), he'll be thinking there's no better time to take on Jürgen Klopp's vulnerable squad.

Liverpool have sent their fans on a rollercoaster recently, alternating between wins and losses in their last five matches which culminated in beating Napoli 2-0 in midweek, but falling to a 2-1 loss to Leeds last time out in the league. That result leaves Liverpool barely in the top-half of the table prior to the weekend, having already lost double the amount of games this PL campaign compared to all of last season!

The Reds have been unusually toothless on their travails this season and still await their first PL away win (D2, L3), their longest stretch without victory on the road to start a league season since 2006/07. They'll be confident they can put up a fight here however, as they're on a run of four games unbeaten in this part of North London (W3, D1) and have only failed to score against Tottenham once in their last 22 matches at any venue.

Players to watch: Tottenham's main man Harry Kane has registered four goal contributions in his last four home PL matches against Liverpool (G3, A1), while Liverpool's Roberto Firmino will look to return the favour, scoring in five of his last seven H2Hs and coming out victorious each time when doing so.

Hot stat: Only one of Tottenham's last 35 home PL matches have been drawn (W24, L10), with that being a 2-2 stalemate with Liverpool.

Fottennis Prediction: Tottenham 1 Liverpool 1
