Football Results and Statistics
In a game filled with red cards, Getafe were held to a goalless draw by Cadiz. The result means it has been five games since Getafe tasted defeat. The match had three red cards in total, Alvarez and Portu got red on the host side while Hernandez got the marching orders late in the game reducing Cadiz to ten men.
Valladolid added more salt to Elche's wounds as they ensured Elche's winless start to the La Liga continued. The visiting team remain bottom of the table with only four points since the start of the campaign.
Osasuna ran an impressive 2-1 win over Celta-Vigo away from home. Avila was the hero once again as both of his goals rose Osasuna to 5th on the table. Celta-Vigo meanwhile are six games without a win, one place above the relegation zone.
Honours to Pique for having a wonderful career at Barcelona. They sent him off well with a resounding 2-0 win over Almeria, despite Lewnadowski's penalty miss. Dembele and De Jong ensured the Blaugrana moved up to first on the log having played earlier than Madrid who will be playing on Monday .
Atletico de Madrid failed to win a test against a ten man Esoanyol. Felix was at the rescue for Atletico after Sergi Darda scored for Espanyol in the 62nf minute. Atletico were at least able to remain undefeated in the last five league games against Espanyol
Real Sociedad put up a good fight and earned a point despite being ten-men down in the 17th minute. The points were shared and the result extended Valencia winless run to five games.
Quique Setien is yet to get a win in the three games as a Villarreal manger as they stumbled to a 0-2 loss at home against Mallorca. Much credit must be given to Vedat Murial as he was involved in both goals that got Mallorca all three points.
There was another bath of red cards in a la-liga game. The game between Betis and Sevilla had three red cards and ten yellow cards. Both teams unsurprisingly could not get a winner and the spoils were shared. The result leaves Jorge Sampoli with two wins in nine games as a sevilla manger
