San Diego WTA Results and Order of play

 Sabalenka was a victim of  a tight schedule as Donna Vekic made good use of her one-day rest defeating her in three sets, Sabalenka tried all she could after losing the first set, she manged to hold on via tie-break in the second set but fatigue came in during the third as she lost her serve twice. Unfair to say the least, WTA has to fix this situation so it does not happen again we don't see things like this in the ATP tour.

Madison keys also did not have much time to rest but I think her match vs Pegula was fair at least, Pegula played doubles with Coco Guaff but still Madison should have been given more time to rest, players that play doubles should know it's their choice not a compulsory decision. Madison Keys lost in  two straight sets to Jessica Pegula.

Earlier today, Swiatek extended her dominance over Coco Guaff  as the defeated her 6 0 6 3 in two straight sets, Coco still has a hope of winning a title here, she is in the doubles with Jessica Pegula. Swiatek has to recover fast as she has another match today.

Danielle Collins was able to use her 2-day rest advantage over Paulo Badosa well, Badosa played in the early hours of yesterday, she had a bit of time to recover but she could not muster a win vs Collins. She lost the first set during the tie-break and lost the second one 6 4.

Later Today, Swiatek stamina levels will be tested when she comes against Jessica Pegula who played late yesterday, quite fair I'll say but the two of them don't have much time to rest, WTA should ensure this won't happen again in any other open, a minimum of 24-hours should be given for these women to rest at least, ATP is miles ahead for sure! We don't see these type of schedule in Men's tennis. The match comes up at 22:30 GMT

Their will be no  time to get tired for Danielle Collins when she plays against Donna Vekic at 22:30 GMT. Vekic did not see her self making the semis of this San Diego open when it started, but she took her chances, Saw of Maria Sakkari in the first round, defeated Pliskova and made good use of her superior time of rest to see off Sabelenka in three sets, she is really lucky here as she did not have any tight schedule.Tonight might just be another test of her prowess but after what we have seen her do she has a lot of chance vs Collins who played earlier today.

In a game filled with red cards, Getafe were held to a goalless draw by Cadiz. The result means it has been five games since Getafe tasted defeat.  Brighton & Hove Albion haven't won (D2, L3) since Graham Potter left for Chelsea in September, so they'd love to get one over his new side and keep themselves on track for a Premier League (PL) top-half finish.   Dominic Thiem saved three match points today as he defeated Hubert Hurkacz in three sets, he will face Sebastian Korda who defeated Yoshihito Nishioka to reach this stage. Thiem has finally gotten his form back and we have seen the way he's been playing over a few weeks, tomorrow is another test for him, facing Korda who has been top notch in recent times, Korda reached the finals of the Gijon Open last week in the same competition Thiem participated in. Can he make it two finals in two weeks? We will know when they play against each other by 15:30 GMT. The second semi final of the day will see Richard Gasquet go head to head vs Felix Auger-Alliasime. Felix had a thought match today vs Daniel Evans and he had to wait for the third set before he could win.
