Results, Order of play of the Gijon ATP
Play continues today at 11:00 GMT, Pedro Cachin (ATP:61) face Alexy Vatutin (ATP:279) the winner will face Andy Murray in the round of sixteen.
12:30 GMT, Nicolas Alvarez (ATP:231) will battle Tommy Paul (ATP:30) for a place in the quarter finals. Tommy Paul made a light work of the reigning boys US Open champion Martin Lendalvce on Monday and he will be hoping to win when he battles Alvarez today.
At that same time France's Constant Lestienne (ATP:63) will face fellow country man Arthur Rinderknech (ATP:56).
Sebastian Korda (ATP:47) will be facing a huge task when he plays against Jaume Munar, Munar who defeated world No 3 Casper Rudd last week will be hoping he avoids another second round loss (he lost to Pedro Martinez in the second round of the Tokyo ATP) today by 15:00 GMT.
16:30 comes the match up between Brazilian Thiago Monterio and the second seeded in the tournament Pablo Carreno Busta (ATP:15) Busta will have to make it to the finals, maybe beat top seed Rublev if he wants to improve his ranking points, losing today won't make any sense and will do a lot of hurt to him.
The last match of the day sees our former US Open champion Dominic Thiem facing Marcos Giron for a place in the quarter finals, Thiem is gradually playing close to his best, he defeated Sousa in two straight sets on Monday and will be hoping to get the same result when he plays against Giron by 18:00 GMT.
Predictions
Tommy Paul to defeat Alvarez Varona in two sets
Jaume Munar to defeat Korda in two sets
Carreno-Busta to beata Monteiro in two straight sets
Dominic Thiem to beat Giron in two sets
