Binaca Andreescu fought so hard as she defeated Liudmia Samsonova in three sets winning the first set via a tie-break and the third comfortably. Donna Vekic made the biggest surprise of the day defeating Maria Sakkari in two straight sets, she won the first via tie-break and the second six games to one! Pilskova made a light work of Caroline Dolehide in two straight sets. Solane Stephens did not disappoint, she defeated Teichmann in two sets. Daria Kasatkina made Fernandez look like an amateur as she defeated her 6 2(twice) in an hour.
Play continues today, Elena Rybakina has withdrawn from the tournament, Mugurua played Zheng but sadly she retired during the first set. Zheng progresses.
