Order of Play of the Gijon ATP and Predictions

The Gijon ATP 250 Event in Spain continues today. Yesterday Dominic Thiem and Tommy Paul advanced to the round of 16 stages.

Matches in the round of sixteen(16) stage continues today, the first match of the day starts by 11:00 GMT. Manuel Guinard (ATP:153) Vs Fabio Fognin (ATP:59). One hour after, qualifier Merco Trungelliti (ATP:241) faces fellow qualifier Nicolas Alvarez (ATP:231). Thirty minutes later Marcos Giron (ATP:62) will battle Albert Ramos (ATP:40). 

The big match of the day starts at 15:30 Alejandro Davldovich (ATP:31) will face three times grand slam champion Andy Murray (ATP:48). This will be his first game since the laver cup, there he said he's not considering retirement and he feels he can still compete on the tour. We might see a shaky start from the Briton but I expect him to win, the last match of today's round of games will be completed when Iilya Ivashka (ATP:70) faces Feliciano Lopez (ATP:415).

This is a pivotal UEFA Champions League (UCL) clash for both Benfica and Juventus, with the hosts in the driving seat. Coming into the round, they are top and level with Paris Saint-Germain on eight points meaning a win would guarantee a top-two finish in Group H, though a draw would also suffice if Maccabi Haifa fail to overcome PSG at the Parc des Princes.   Dominic Thiem saved three match points today as he defeated Hubert Hurkacz in three sets, he will face Sebastian Korda who defeated Yoshihito Nishioka to reach this stage. Thiem has finally gotten his form back and we have seen the way he's been playing over a few weeks, tomorrow is another test for him, facing Korda who has been top notch in recent times, Korda reached the finals of the Gijon Open last week in the same competition Thiem participated in. Can he make it two finals in two weeks? We will know when they play against each other by 15:30 GMT. The second semi final of the day will see Richard Gasquet go head to head vs Felix Auger-Alliasime. Felix had a thought match today vs Daniel Evans and he had to wait for the third set before he could win. Carloz Alcaraz is set to play Felix Auger-Alliaime by 14:30 GMT, it has being quite an open for both players, they've had easy opponents to face and today is the first big test for each of them. Today's game will be the third time they'll face each other, Felix has won in the former two encounters against Carlos. Today's match will be a different one, Carlos has been playing very well so I don't expect Felix to have an easy ride. Felix's form is another thing to consider, he won two 250-ATP titles in the past two weeks. Today's match will see a lot of shot making. The best player among the two will win for sure.
