Felix Auger-Aliassime wins the Antwerp ATP
It was two titles in two weeks for Felix as he defeated Sebastian Korda in two straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. He now has three titles in 2022 alone.
Winning today increased his hopes of qualifying for the ATP finals in Turin.
"It's amazing you know, to win again, back to back tournaments, and to win for the first time here in Antwerp [Belgium] against a player like Sebastian Korda who is a fantastic player, one of the greats to come," Felix said in his post-match interview. " And it was a tough week really."
Felix got a record of 7 aces in the match, he won 85% of his 1st serve, saved 100% of the break points he faced. He was also sharp, converting half of the break points he had. He won about 85% of the net points and 57% of the total points.
Felix defeated Manuel Guinard(6-3, 6-3) Danil Evans (4-6, 7-6(7-4), 6-2), Richard Gasquet(7-6(7-3), 7-6(7-3)) in his run at Antwerp.
Before today, Korda defeated Marcos Giron (6-3, 7-6(0-7) 6-4), Karen Khachanov(7-5, 7-6(11-9)), Yoshihito Nishioka (6-0, 6-2) and Dominic Thiem (6-7(4-7) 6-3, 7-6(7-4)) to reach this second final in two weeks.
"You got me good last time we played, so I'm happy I was able to get a win over you," Felix said, he also told Sebastian to keep on going and wished him good luck for the rest of this year.
