ATP Order of Play for the weekend

Djokovic will be in action tomorrow in the Astana ATP tour

Fottennis brings you the order of play of tennis events this weekend, a few insight on the match, previews and the players to look out for during the weekend.

We start from the east of Asia, the Tokyo ATP going on in Japan. The ATP 500 event has reached the Semis stage. American ace Taylor Fritz (ATP:11) will face inconsistent Canadian Dennis Shapovalov(ATP:22) on  Saturday 07:00 GMT. Fritz is the favourite being the 3rd seed in this tournament plus he's had a great season something Shapovalov has not experienced this year. Fritz should win in a maximum of three(3) sets.

Earlier that day Frances Tiafoe(ATP:19) will face Soonwoo Kwon(ATP:120) Frances is having a good summer having reached the semis in the US open and winning the Laver cup with team World, he has been consistent all since, he's  backed by the bookers with a 1.33 odd.

Moving to central Asia, in Kazakhstan, at the Astana ATP, an ATP 500 Event. It is  also in its semi-final stage. Greek maestro and ATP No 6 Stefanos Tsitsipas will lock horns with Russian ace Andrey Rublev(ATP:9) on Saturday 06:00 GMT. Tsitsipas defeated Poland's No 1 Hubert Hurkacz(ATP:10) to reach the Semis while Rublev outclassed Adrian Mannariano in two straight sets. Rublev and Tsitsipas have faced each other 9 times, Rublev edging him four times and Tsitsipas taking the other 5 matches. it will be a very close match but given how Tsitsipas takes control of his service games I expect him to win via tie-breaks in two sets.

Later in the day Novak Djokovik and Danil Medvedev will settle scores at 13:00 GMT. The last time they met was in the US Open final 2021 where Medvedev won in four(4) sets, both players have a mixed season, Medvedev had a great start in the year after reaching the Australian Open final, he has played less convincing since then. Djokovik has not been able to play in all majors this year meaning he spent a lot of time off-court this year and we saw how it could affect him during the Laver cup, although he performed well in the games he managed to play this season. We hope to see a great match maybe a replay of what happened in 2021 and I'm tipping Djokovic to win in three sets.

Players to look out for

Frances Tiafoe

Taylor Fritz

Stefanos Tsitsipas

Novak Djokovic

Danil Medvedev
